The Concept
A school without walls — where the room itself becomes the first teacher.
In the heart of Chamberí, IDEQUO — The Interior Design School has turned a sober, all-white law office into a 500-square-meter laboratory of ideas. Academic Director Aitor Viteri treated the brief as a blank canvas rather than a retrofit: an interior design school, he reasoned, should be taught by its own architecture.
The result is unapologetically chromatic. Where the old offices offered only white, Alvic’s palette now organizes the space — Curry, Naranja Citrus and Coral raise the energy in furniture and cladding, while a deeper Azul Ultramar and a restrained touch of Rojo Pompei hold the room in balance. Color becomes wayfinding: it marks thresholds, signals use, and keeps the senses awake.
The palette plays across two finishes at once. Luxe’s high-gloss surfaces throw back light and multiply it through the room, while Zenit’s supermate answers in soft, velvet-quiet contrast — proof that this school’s boldest lessons are written into the material itself.
